If you install Lightroom 5 on an iMac you can get the Remote Desktop viewer to make Lightroom remotely available on a Windows or other Mac through. It may be the most convenient way for you to use Lightroom. Lightroom 5.5-5.7 will also work with Lightroom Catalogue CC, as long as you have either Lightroom 6 or Catalogue running. 5.7 > 6.0 make sure you have Catalogue running. Windows 10 doesn't have Catalogue but it does have Lightroom CC.

I dont have one yet so I cant be sure if or how Lightroom handles that situation. In my tests of Lightroom 5.4.2 on Win7 64bit the "double UI" (2 windows) of Lightroom 5.3 is not affected. I think that with all of this I may just end up with a single window for the two applications. Its simple enough now for me to keep going with Lightroom without worrying about it when I see an image. I also still use Aperture. Dont know why, but I find it much more consistent ( more " Aperture " like). So for now, one window it is.
If youre using my main machine, make sure you check with your software vendor before upgrading to the latest version. Some guys on a forum im reading have done their homework, and confirmed that they have no issues with their license for Lightroom 5.7.1. They specifically point to Adobe Technical Support's page , which lists all of the valid serial numbers for Lightroom 5.7.1, and for the non-pro version 5.7. They made a specific note that Microsoft technical support will know nothing about the release of Lightroom 6, so make sure your serial number is valid for your most recent version of Windows.
